Cartagena Colombia: Erre de Ramón Freixa

One of my favorite dining experiences in Cartagena was at Erre de Ramón Freixa, a gourmet restaurant located in Hotel Las Americas in the trendy Bocagrande area of the city. Owner and double Michelin-starred chef, Ramon Freixa, is known for his modern interpretation of traditional Spanish cuisine. The restaurant offers a luxury dining experience and is considered one of the best in the city. The menu features a variety of traditional Spanish dishes with a modern twist, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service and ambiance of the restaurant were exceptional. Seriously, the food looked like works of art. We couldn’t decide whether to eat it or just snap pictures all night. 🙂

We sampled several main dishes, and everything was amazing. Here were some of our standout favorites:

  • Angus beef rib glazed it its own juices
  • Barbecued pork ribs with asparagus yolks and fried yucca
  • Beef tail in red wine, vanilla pumpkin purée with scorched scallions

I highly recommend you stop by Erre when in Cartagena. Don’t forget to leave a comment on what your favorite dishes were. I’ll be sure to try them next time.
