We’ve all been there. You’ve touched down in a different country and successfully checked into your room. It’s time to settle in and enjoy the vacation. Just one problem…your phone battery is low and your chargers are the wrong voltage. Panic sets in as you watch the charge indicator inch closer and closer to zero. You think “I should’ve bought an adapter…”. This won’t happen again. Here are the top 5 travel essentials that I refuse to board the plane without:
- Bestek Universal Travel Adapter: A travel adapter is an essential item to pack for any trip to a foreign country. It keeps all your appliances safe by allowing you to convert the electrical current to the appropriate voltage. I personally use the Bestek Universal for all my travels. It has a wide array of plug types and so far I haven’t needed anything else. Be sure to check the voltage and plug type of the country you’ll be visiting to ensure you’re covered.
- Alpha Keeper Money Belt: A money belt is a discreet and secure way to store your passport, credit cards, and money while on the go. They are especially useful when traveling through crowded tourist destinations where pickpocketing is more likely. When worn around your waist and tucked under your shirt, it’s hardly noticeable. It gives you peace of mind when traveling to know that your most essential belongings are close.
- Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer: A travel document organizer is essential when traveling as a family. It keeps important documents such as passports, tickets, and itineraries organized and easily accessible; making it a cinch to find what you need when you need it. Including this item dramatically reduces stress and confusion when traveling with family.
- SwissGear Laptop Backpack: My laptop goes wherever I go, whether it’s travel for work or vacation. I’ve tried many backpacks and, in my opinion, the SwissGear is a cut above the rest in terms of quality, comfort, and usefulness. It keeps my 17 inch laptop nice and snug and has many pockets for all my other electronic accessories. And there’s still room for a few quick changes of clothes.
- Travel Bottles by Teapile: If you’re like me, you don’t always love the toiletries provided at the hotel. I tend to bring my own using travel bottles. They allow you to bring your personal items such as shampoo and lotion when you travel. They’re small, lightweight, and easy to pack and won’t take up too much space in your luggage. I recommend the 14-pack offered by Teapile. They’re leak proof and TSA approved for carry-ons. A bonus feature is they’re BPA free in case you want to store any sauces you can’t live without 🙂
